The number of container refusals by the Food and Drug Administration remained high in May following a record set the previous month. Vinyl exam glove refusals decreased by half in May, but latex and nitrile glove refusals both spiked.

Only 3 container refusals of latex exam gloves between June and November of last year. Since then, 30 containers have been refused, perhaps due in part to a rush to meet increased demand created by the Swine Flu pandemic.
