Natural rubber latex prices continue to test the 600 sen/kg after first surpassing the milestone late last week, according to data released by the Malaysian Rubber Board. As of market close Tuesday, prices were up more than 17% in the last month and more than 80% from this time last year.
In related news, Rubber & Plastics News reports that global natural rubber supplies have fallen by over 5% year to date (through October) due to weakened output from the world’s largest producers of natural rubber latex, such as Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia.
